The 40th anniversary 2014 JALT National Conference was a huge success. The presentations were inspiring. The conversations were meaningful. The venue was beautiful. Here are the highlights!
Are you ready for JALT 2015?!
Focus on the Learner
Ultimately, language education revolves around the learner and learning. Our teaching philosophies, metaphors, and practices are based on our implicit or explicit theories of learning and learners’ characteristics and needs. It is a basic principle, but is often forgotten in our busy day-to-day lives. At JALT’s 41st international conference we will take the opportunity to focus our attention on and to celebrate what we have learned and wish to learn about, with, and as learners.
As teachers of younger learners, this theme represents what members of the TYL SIG (Teaching Younger Learners Special Interest Group) think about every day: How do we connect with and inspire our students?
To register for the conference, please follow this link. While you’re at it, please consider becoming a JALT member (the conference is cheaper!). If you’re a teacher of younger learners (Preschool ~ High School), please consider joining the TYL SIG as well!
We hope to see you there!
